An interesting way to advertise cooking products. You showcase the product with the ingredients, creating some clean and minimal visual recipes.
The old school book recipes: title, picture, ingredients and some explanations. That is it. Nothing more, nothing less. But what if they could look different?
Thanks to Mikkel Jul Hvilshoj we get the opportunity to see something different, much more different. Mikkel is an advertising photographer specialized in high-end still life photography. He was approached by Olga Bastian, creative director at Liquiminds, to help them present the Eva Solo products.
The solution came in a clean and minimalist form, where the product and ingredients would be presented together, illustrating a certain dish. This is where the images will have a double role, to present the product and showcase a specific recipe.
“To keep everything clean and tight, we lined product and ingredients up in a square seen from top view, and to make the five images stand out from each other, we varied the background colors.” said Mikkel in one of his project descriptions.
“I let the formal shape and qualities of an object set the creative direction, and with high technical standards I strive to create beautiful images.” And beautiful images he created.
When you see the vivid colors of the ingredients, admit it, a familiar question pops up “What’s for dinner?” While I was writing this post, it was around 4:30 and thinking that I need to get some tomatoes.
What I’m trying to say is that Mikkel delivered and the images do justice to the product and recipes (and also that I’m hungry).
But enough talk, it’s time to see the actual work.
If you like these visual recipes, share them with your friends! Maybe they like the ads, need a pan from Eva Solo, or just want a new dish for dinner.
