A visual presentation of how 25 of some of the most popular songs of their time, would look under the form of pictograms. Thanks to the designer and photographer Viktor Hertz, we can have a look at a collection of 25 pictogram music posters.
“Pictography is a form of writing which uses representational, pictorial drawings. It is a basis of cuneiform and, to some extent, hieroglyphic writing, which uses drawings also as phonetic letters or determinative rhymes.”
Basically, it is a language in pictures, and because seeing is faster then reading, it is so effective when you want to say something really fast: stop!, wet floor, for men, exit, stairs etc.
Viktor Hertz is a freelance design artist and photographer, located in Uppsala, Sweden. My main area is designing posters, I’m currently a bit obsessed with custom art movie posters, but I try to be as wide as possible.
