Valentino, the italian luxury brand, has introduced a new collection of accessories for the 2015 spring season.The collection is titled Rock Runner 1973 and the ad campaign was created by Terry Richardson.
The collection introduces accessories with a rich color pallet, which include: shoes, handbags, purses, bracelets etc.
The products are cool, and pretty, but what got my attention was the campaign itself.
What I really love about this ad campaign is the contrast created between the colorful women products and the tattooed man hands. Not only that, but also the way the products are presented and handed, some are presented like from a pedestal, and some are “man handled” or grabbed. Even the linen white background makes the shadows of the hands and bags more interesting.
I’m a designer and you have to understand that, value to me is represented by the “how” is presented and not the “what”.
Fashion products, or fashion in general, has this natural flexibility when it comes to presenting the end result, and that is what I find really interesting, that gets my attention.
It’s a clean and simple design, consistent with the approach presented in the past, yet still interesting.
